Robert French, CEO

Robert French joined the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas as CEO in the Fall of 2025. Bringing with him a wide depth of knowledge in  Jewish philanthropy, Robert previously served  as CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans (2023–2025), where he guided the community’s unified response to the October 7 attacks and their aftermath. Under his leadership, the Federation strengthened its presence and relevance in New Orleans through innovative engagement strategies, new collaborations, and meaningful programming. He also oversaw the first increases to the community campaign since 2005 – along with expanded sponsorship support for programs.

Prior to his time in New Orleans, Robert was Executive Director of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation of El Paso, Texas. He also spent more than two decades in synagogue leadership, including ten years as Executive Director of Temple Israel of the City of New York, where he revitalized the historic Upper East Side congregation, driving spiritual, financial, and membership growth. He developed large-scale programs that engaged thousands of young Jewish professionals and reconnected them with Jewish life. At Stephen S. Wise Temple in Los Angeles, Robert held a range of leadership roles across education, communications, administration, and programming, helping to unify more than 20 departments across multiple campuses around a shared mission.

Born and raised in London, Robert is a graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University, California State University Northridge, and California Coast University, where he studied Business Administration. He is passionate about family, travel, learning about diverse cultures, and is an avid dog lover. A musician, swimmer, and cinema enthusiast, Robert also finds joy in the outdoors.

Deeply committed to Israel, Robert served as Co-Chair of New York’s StandWithUs Board for nine years and currently serves on the Connect Israel board, fostering entrepreneurial partnerships between Israel and the U.S. His work is driven by a belief in authentic relationships, a passion for strengthening Jewish life, and a vision for building a vibrant Jewish future.
