The JFGD community security initiative has created a more safe and efficient security apparatus for the Jewish Community throughout the North Texas Area over the last year. Through emergency communications, target hardening, training and education, as well as robust relationships with various law enforcement agencies, we continue exceeding the standards set forth by our constituents.
Throughout 2024-2025, the JFGD security team successfully relayed multiple community security alerts, providing well vetted and timely intelligence to community leaders to better prepare their respective organizations in lieu of potential threats. JFGD was also implemental in assisting 85 organizations with site security assessments, highlighting their vulnerabilities at no extra cost, and in turn helping raise over 3 million dollars from the NSGP FEMA grant and local impact grant to pay for additional security implementation. The security team also trained over approximately 2,000 community members in various curriculums, consisting of Situational Awareness, Run/Hide/Fight (Active Shooter Preparedness), Stop the Bleed, and CPR all of which was at zero monetary cost to the community.
Lastly, the Security team continued to maintain and strengthen relationships with our law enforcement partners at the local, state, and federal levels; of which included a warm welcome to our new Dallas Police Chief, Daniel C. Comeaux. Chief Comeaux informed JFGD leadership that he is a committed partner to the Jewish Community and will work diligently to provide law enforcement needs to the community.
Our Security Director, Bill Humphrey, also collaborated with our international law enforcement partners in Israel. While there, Bill was able to gain valuable insights to the strength and dynamics of Israeli Police and the IDF, providing additional measures and strategies for our security footprint here at home. The JFGD security team will continue to strive for excellence, but its successes are only possible through the support of the North Texas Jewish Community. Though your active participation, we will continue to pave the way for a safer Jewish Community in North Texas.
