Scholarships and Financial Aid

The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas wants to inspire families to send their teens to Israel. We believe that the Israel experience is something everyone should have, and want to send as many teens as possible to strengthen their connection with Israel and Judaism. The JFGD is proud to link teens and their families with financial assistance to encourage these memory-making adventures.

In order to qualify for the scholarships, applicants must live in Dallas, demonstrate financial need, be a current high school student and have the same status at the time of the Israel program, and plan to participate in a recognized Israel experience program that is longer than 10 days and has educational content.

To streamline the application process, you only need to complete the single application to be considered for all available aid opportunities. Our committee gives every consideration to each eligible application and its related circumstances.  While we do take into account each family’s situation and not only their income, families earning in excess of $140,000 are not likely to be awarded scholarships, unless there are extenuating circumstances, which must be clearly explained in the application.

Your completed electronic application (see below) must:

1. Be filled out completely and signed by both the parent/guardian and the applicant.
2. Include the first page of the most recent 1040 for the household.
3. Include a written statement by the applicant on why this trip is important to them.

**Applications with incomplete information or missing forms will not be submitted to our committee for consideration**

Dallas Israel Teen Tour scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Dallas Israel Teen Tour Scholarship Committee. All other Israel program applications will be reviewed by a joint committee of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.

Please note that applications must be completed in one sitting, as they cannot be "saved". We recommend gathering all required documents prior to submission of the application.
