Make your donation go further!

Many employers value the importance of philanthropic giving and sponsor matching gift programs that match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees, retirees and/or employees’ spouses. When you donate through the workplace, you join hundreds of others who have leveraged employer support to enhance the impact of their philanthropic contributions on the causes they care for most. Federation would be a proud recipient of such a generous match.

Gifts may include monthly payroll deductions as well as annual gifts.  Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of the gift.  Take advantage of your company's matching gift benefit to help increase YOUR impact for the community!

In addition to providing greater support for the community, your matching gift donation offers other benefits:

For employees: Matching gifts are recorded as gifts that are separate from and above your annual Community Campaign pledge amount, but as a donor, you will be acknowledged at the recognition level that includes your employer’s match. For example, if you make a donation of $500 to JFGD and your employer’s matching gift brings the total contribution to $1,000, you will be recognized at the $1,000 level.

For employers: Donations received from employers through their matching gift programs are fully tax-deductible.

How to Acquire Matching Gifts

Take a look at our list of companies that offer matching gift programs.

If you don’t see your employer listed, you can check with your company’s website or Human Resources Department to see if a charitable Matching Gift Program exists.

If the answer is "yes," ask for a Matching Gift Form and complete your portion.  If the answer is “no,” talk to your HR Director and suggest the company consider such a program.

NOTE: The IRS does not consider JFGD to be a religious organization. As a 501(c)(3) corporation, we are required to file a 990 form, and we do so annually. A copy of our 990s can be found here.
