Chief Rabbi of Poland Rabbi Michael Schudrich has been described by Polish author, Mladen Petrov, as the "24/7 Rabbi" for his tireless efforts to rebuild Jewish life in Poland that was almost completely obliterated during the Holocaust. Rabbi Schudrich is the epitome of an Upstander.
Born in New York City in 1955, he graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997 with a Religious Study major. Schudrich received semicha from Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University, and received an MA degree in history from Columbia in 1982.
Schudrich served as rabbi of the Jewish Community of Japan from 1983-89.
