The Dallas Jewish Community Center is proud to pay tribute to the memory of Maxine and Erwin Waldman by naming the JCC Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament in their honor.
A native-born Dallasite, Erwin’s life was always centered around the Dallas Jewish Community. He had numerous positions of leadership including those with B’nai B’rith, City of Hope, Congregation Shearith Israel, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas. However, his greatest civic pride came from his love and involvement in the Dallas Jewish Community Center, where, over his lifetime, he served in multiple capacities culminating with his presidency from 1966 to 1968.
Maxine was born in Chicago but became a true Texan at the age of five. She was an active and honored member of Congregation Shearith Israel, and a devoted volunteer at the Presbyterian Healthcare Center in Dallas for 44 years. As a true role model to the young members of the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization, Maxine served as an advisor and volunteer for years.
We are honored to celebrate Maxine and Erwin, and know that their memory, service, and love for The J lives on.
