Dallas Jewish Historical Society’s Ann Loeb Sikora Humanitarian Award, a biennial fundraising event, on May 2, 2019 will honor four women who have been influential in supporting and shaping the Dallas Jewish and general communities: Melissa Weinfeld Ackerman, Brenda Weinfeld Bliss, Susan Shosid Bendalin and Karen Shosid Weinreb. The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas.
The Sikora Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to public service and who stand as role models for future generations. Each of the four honorees represents Ann Loeb Sikora’s legacy of leadership and devotion to social justice and humanitarian causes in the Jewish and general community.
“Our honorees are women who have made history through their passion for philanthropy and public service in the Greater Dallas area,” said Stuart Rosenfield, DJHS president. “This is a unique event as it is the first time the Humanitarian Award will be presented to two sets of sisters, all of whom are actively involved in their various communities and organizations.”
