Jewish Communities Day at the State: Legislative Mission to Austin 

Wednesday, January 30, 2019 | 9:30 am-3:30 pm

Optional bus transportation from Dallas: $15

 

Join our Jewish community for a one-day advocacy mission to the Texas State Capitol. Organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, in partnership with the Jewish Federations of Austin, Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Houston and San Antonio. We will travel to Austin to advocate and educate together on issues important to all of us. For more information, please email us.

 

Program will include:

  • Meeting with the Governor*, Lt. Governor* and Speaker of the House*

  • Meeting in small groups with influential legislators

  • Advocacy issues will include:

    • Support for Israel

    • Support for local social services agencies

    • Access to quality early learning for all children

Transportation from Dallas

  • Optional bus transportation will be provided for participants traveling from the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, 7800 Northaven Road, Dallas 75230. There is an additional cost of $15 per person to take the bus.

  • Coffee and bagels will be available at 5:30 am. Please arrive no later than 5:45 am. Bus departs promptly at 5:55 am. Due to traffic and other concerns, we will be unable to wait for latecomers. 

  • Note, bus capacity is limited. Your seat on the bus is not confirmed until you receive a separate email confirming your space on the bus. If you would like to ride the bus, please pay for the seat and you will then receive a separate email confirmation. If there is no space on the bus, your fee for the bus will be refunded.  There is no space limit on participation for the program in Austin.
