Retired Jewish conductor and Dallasite Anshel Brusilow, former conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, will sign copies of his new memoir at Wild Detectives.
In Shoot the Conductor: Too Close to Monteux, Szell, and Ormandy (University of North Texas Press), Brusilow writes (with the help of co-writer Robin Underdahl) about his career as a violinist, conductor, and teacher, focusing on his close relationships with conducting legends Pierre Monteux, George Szell, and Eugene Ormandy.
